MEMORIES OF JARRETT GRAPHIC GIVEN BY: MRS.CLAUDIA LINDLEY~MOM TO ANGEL ROCKY LINDLEY...THANK YOU MRS.CLAUDIA~LOVE IT!

~ABOUT JARRETT~
Jarrett was born July 24th, 1984 at Tri-County Hospital (now known as Hutcheson) in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
His first home was known as our Harker house. We called it that because of the street name. That was our home until we out grew it.
We then made the move to Ringgold, Ga. Only about 6 miles east of our Harker house. We had problems with that house and moved again. We had a house built one street over. That eventually became our "HOME".
Within a month of moving into this house, we had our own house fire. It was just a few short years later that Jarrett got interested in the fire department. A fire fighter and a few younger guys were testing a fire hydrant across from our house and Jarrett seen the fire truck. Out the door he went. He was hooked from that moment on. He found out that they had an explorers program and joined the post 2305 at the age of 12.
At that time they were known as the Boynton Bad Boys. I called them "go-fors"...go-for-this and go-for-that. But they still had to learn all the necessities needed to become a fire fighter. They had to know where each piece of equipment was and where it belonged.
His brother Sean became and explorer a year later when he turned 12. He was just following in his brothers footsteps. They got to go on calls together and they helped the fire fighters with the tools that were needed while on a call.
At age 18, they were allowed to go into a burning structure and actually get to fight a real fire. He would always get disappointed if they got cancelled. He loved being a fire fighter. He ate it up. He dreamed it, lived it, breathed it and died for it. He honestly lived out his dream. He was a FIREFIGHTER.
Jarrett, his brother Sean and his best friend Lance went down south to help fight the wild fires near the Ga./Fl. border about 2 years ago (in 2007). Though it too was a learning experience, they had only been away from home for about 12 days and just couldn't wait to come home. He called his daddy to ask if he could call in a favor from one of his friends to fly down and pick them up. He just couldn't ride the bus back. His daddy couldn't get the plane and all 3 of them had to endure the 8 hours on the bus~anyway.
Jarrett took as many classes and courses that were offered. He took swiftwater rescue as well. Three weeks prior to the accident, Jarrett was certified as a Rope Rescue Tech. (He never got to see his certificate). He learned to rappel so he would be able to go on cave rescues too. He was just learning to rock climb with his new girlfriend Shannon Burger. He participated in anything and everything that had to do with the fire department. He learned whatever it took to do the job and to do it to the best of his ability.
Jarrett was employed with the Walker County Fire department in Georgia. He was already working and stationed at Station 11 in LaFayette, GA. When the new ambulance service for each county took effect, Walker County decided to have the fire department and the ambulance service housed under one roof at different fire stations. They would also start their new work shifts. They would work 24/48 shifts. (work for 24 hrs. and be off for 48). That was the same schedule that his brother Sean worked. He liked it and told Jarrett that he would like it too.
It was then that Jarrett, Matt and Adam got transferred to their new station in Chickamauga, GA. Station 6. Jarrett would be closer to home and would save money on gas. He would also be available to work his other part time job on his off days.
December 31st, 2008, was the start of the new work schedule and the new services being housed under the same roof. Before they could even start their day...they had to clean the station and get it ready to be "lived in". It hadn't been lived in for sometime. They had to get 2 different batteries just to get the fire truck started. That's how long it had been un-manned, but Jarrett was excited. He loved it. He was ready to be closer to home.
Jarrett had called his daddy earlier that day and asked him to bring him a few items. He did and stayed a little while to check out his new station. When I got off work and found out that Kenny had been to visit Jarrett's new station - I said that I wanted to go and visit him and see it too. When we got there, they were still cleaning. So, we rolled up our sleeves and pitched in.
I got to help cook his last dinner and he done his part in cleaning up the dishes. Even though I was there, he said that it was his job and he had to wash 'em. So, I let him. After we finished, he went back to work. As I started to leave and walk out, I remembered that it was New Year's Eve and I wanted to wish him a Happy New Year. I went back in toward the fire truck and found him already inside. I tapped him on his butt and wished him a Happy New Year and told him that I loved him.
That was the last time that I got to see him alive. Most people don't get "that final time" with someone when it's a vehicle accident. I'm grateful for that, though I wished I had stayed longer. I am his mother and I'm proud of Jarrett and our son Sean as well.
Jarrett enjoyed just about everything he did in life. He wasn't always treated right by others and maybe this can be a wake up call to them.
Jarrett had the most beautiful blue eyes and a smile that went from ear to ear. He had a contagious laugh as well.
We all will miss Jarrett, his laugh, his smile, his blue eyes....just him in general.

I Hear Each Tear
My Mom does not know I am watching her but I'm watching her just the same. and I hear each tear fall on her face at the mention of my name.
She says it sounds like music to her ears and can be heard over a crowd. Oh I hear each tear fall on her face when my name is said aloud.
I watch her stumble through each day as she wishes the day would end. And I hear each tear fall on her face as she talks of me with her friends.
But there are few who truly understand. Oh this I've heard her proclaim. And I hear each tear fall on her face. Will my Mom ever be the same?
I know that her smile can light up a sky but I don't see that smile today. But I hear each tear fall on her face her blue skies have turned to gray.
I send to her my warmest hug with the rays of the morning sun. Then I won't hear a tear fall on her face for I shall erase them one-by-one.
My mom does not know I am watching her but I'm watching her just the same. And if I hear a tear fall on her face I'll just softly whisper her name.

I'M THERE INSIDE YOUR HEART
Right now I'm in a different place
And though we seem apart
I'm closer than I ever was ... I'm there inside your heart. I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright
I'm there to share the sunsets too ... I'm with you every night. I'm with you when the times are good
To share a laugh or two
And if a tear should start to fall ... I'll still be there for you. And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart
I'll smile and hold you close to me ... Forever in my heart

~~JARRETT~~ I thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday And days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories And your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake, With which I'll never part. God has you in his keeping, I have you in My heart.
WITH ALL MY LOVE~FOREVER

THESE SHOES
I wear a pair of shoes. They are ugly shoes. Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes each day I wear them and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step. Yet I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes. They are looks of sympathy. I can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes. To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable. To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them. But once you put them on you can never take them off.
I now realize I am not the only one who wears these shoes. There are many pairs in this world. Some women are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them. Some have learned how to walk in them so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes. They have made me who I am. I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.
A GIFT FROM ANGEL LEAH AVRIL'S AUNT JO
SHE HAS MADE AN ANGEL ROCK GARDEN
THANK YOU AUNT JO FOR ADDING OUR JARRETT ~ XOXO

A DAD'S GRIEF
IT MUST BE VERY DIFFICULT TO BE A MAN IN GRIEF SINCE MEN DON'T CRY AND MEN ARE STRONG NO TEARS CAN BRING RELIEF .
IT MUST BE VERY DIFFICULT TO STAND UP TO THE TEST AND TAKE THE CALLS AND VISITORS SO SHE CAN GET SOME REST
THEY ALWAYS ASK IF SHE'S ALL RIGHT AND WHAT SHE'S GOING THROUGH BUT SELDOM TAKE HIS HAND AND ASK: "MY FRIEND, BUT HOW ARE YOU?"
HE HEARS HER CRYING IN THE NIGHT AND THINKS HIS HEART WILL BREAK HE DRIES HER TEARS AND COMFORTS HER BUT STAYS STRONG ~ FOR HER SAKE
IT MUST BE VERY DIFFICULT TO START EACH DAY ANEW AND TRY TO BE SO VERY BRAVE ~ HE LOST HIS BABY TOO.

JARRETT LOVED HIS BROTHER~SEAN. SOMETHING TO ADD: SEAN NEVER CALLED JARRETT BY HIS NAME...IT WAS ALWAYS...
~BROTHER~
BROTHERS
Suddenly you're the only child, how difficult that must be. Collectively, you were "The Boys", it was always you and me. And though you grew together, you were different as night and day. Somehow you managed to get along, both in your work and play. Don't push away those memories, hold them closely to your heart, Then a piece of him will be with you, I believe the finest part. Remember that he loved you, and didn't want to let you down. He admired you, looked up to you, and liked when you were around. Brothers you once were, and brothers you'll always be. Please love him and forgive him to set his spirit free.
I SEEN THIS "YOU ROCK" KITTEN AND THOUGHT OF HOW YOU WOULD HAVE YOUR HEADSET ON AT THE POST OFFICE ~ CASING UP THE MAIL, DANCING & SINGING. IT BRINGS A SMILE TO MY FACE ~ YET, I'M SAD WHEN I GO TO WORK. LOVE YOU MY JARRETT~ALWAYS, MAMA

THE NEXT FEW PICTURES ARE OF TODD WOOTEN. HE WAS A CO-WORKER OF MINE & JARRETT'S (AT THE POST OFFICE). HE TOO WAS A HARD WORKER AND WORKED 2 JOBS LIKE JARRETT. I THOUGHT I WOULD DEDICATE A SECTION OF JARRETT'S SITE TO TODD

~JUST A FEW THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TODD~
HIS FAVORITE COLOR IS: BLUE
THOUGH, HE DID LIKE LOUD & BRIGHT COLORS TOO.
HE LOVED COMPUTERS TOO. HE & HIS BROTHER WERE SO GOOD WITH COMPUTERS THAT WHEN THEY WERE IN SCHOOL, THE TEACHER FROM THEIR COMPUTER CLASS WOULD GET THEM CALLED OUT OF THEIR CLASS TO COME AND HELP HIM WHENEVER HE HAD A PROBLEM.
TODD'S FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR WAS CHRISTMAS. HE WOULD GET THE CHRISTMAS TREE OUT AND HAVE IT ALL DECORATED BY THE TIME HIS DAD WOULD GET HOME FROM WORK~HIS DAD WOULD THEN DECORATE THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE.
TODD ALSO LOVED OPENING CHRISTMAS GIFTS~IT DIDN'T MATTER WHAT SIZE THEY WERE~HE JUST LOVED "OPENING" 'EM.

WHEN TODD WOULD WRITE HIS DAD A NOTE~HE WOULD DRAW A SMILEY FACE ON IT

THE PHOTO ABOVE WAS TAKEN WHEN RINGGOLD P.O. HAD A SMOKE ALARM TO GO OFF AND THEY HAD TO CALL THE FIRE DEPT. JARRETT JUST SO HAPPENED TO BE WORKING.

~MY FAMILY~

THEY SAY THERE IS A REASON. THEY SAY THAT TIME WILL HEAL. BUT NEITHER TIME NOR REASON WILL CHANGE THE WAY WE FEEL. FOR NO-ONE KNOWS THE HEARTACHE THAT LIES BEHIND OUR SMILES. NO-ONE KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES WE HAVE BROKEN DOWN & CRIED. WE WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING SO THERE WON'T BE ANY DOUBT. YOU ARE SO WONDERFUL TO THINK OF. BUT SO HARD TO LIVE WITHOUT...
TODD LOVED MUSIC AND WHENEVER HE & HIS BROTHER WERE TOGETHER IN THE FAMILY VAN...THEY WOULD SING TO THE MUSIC ON THE RADIO AND NOT SKIP A WORD. THEY ACTUALLY WERE PRETTY GOOD~SINGING TOGETHER...BROTHERS~A SPECIAL BOND. HIS DAD SAID THEY GOT THAT FROM THEIR MOTHER~SHE SANG WITH A GOSPEL GROUP BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY.

"Pennies From Heaven "
I found a penny today Just laying on the ground But it's not just a penny This little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from Heaven That's what someone told me, Angels toss them down. Oh, how I loved that story.
When an angel misses you They toss a penny down, Sometimes just to cheer you up To make a smile out of your frown.
So don't pass by that penny When you're feeling blue, It may be a penny from Heaven That an Angel tossed to you.

TIME HAS TAKEN ME FROM YOU ALTHOUGH NOT VERY FAR I'LL BE WATCHING THRU THE SUNSHINE AND THRU THE BRIGHTEST STAR
I'LL BE WATCHING ALL OF YOU FROM HEAVEN UP ABOVE SO TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER AND CARRY ALL MY LOVE
IF YOU'RE WONDERING IF I'M THERE HERE'S WHERE YOU CAN START TAKE A LOOK INSIDE YOURSELF DEEP WITHIN YOUR HEART
I'LL ALWAYS BE YOUR SON AND ALWAYS YOUR BEST FRIEND SO ANY TIME YOU NEED ME CLOSE YOUR EYES I'M BACK AGAIN

I USE TO SING THIS TO BOTH THE BOYS AFTER I HAD HAD THEM & WAS ROCKING 'EM TO SLEEP. BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES WHEN I SEEN IT IN PRINT.
You are my sunshine My only sunshine. You make me happy When skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, How much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away

JARRETT HARD AT WORK...

I Wish You Were Here
Written by Becky Little on March 4, 2009
I wish you were here
I miss you every day
I cry for you each morning, noon and night
No words can really be said to help ease the pain
People want to help they just don't know how
They say the wrong things at times
They just don't understand
I wish you were here
I love you my Jarrett

JARRETT, NICKI & TYLER...ON THEIR WAY DOWN TO SEE ANGIE IN MISSISSIPPI~BEFORE SHE LEFT OUT FOR IRAQ.......

THIS IS JARRETT'S BEST FRIEND LANCE. THEY'VE BEEN FRIENDS SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL OR LONGER. THIS PICTURE WAS WHILE THEY WERE IN FLORIDA ON VACATION TOGETHER ~ AUGUST 2008.
LIES
MY MOM...SHE TELLS A LOT OF LIES. SHE NEVER DID BEFORE. BUT FROM NOW UNTIL SHE DIES...SHE'LL TELL A WHOLE LOT MORE. ASK MY MOM HOW SHE IS...AND BECAUSE SHE CAN'T EXPLAIN...SHE WILL TELL A LITTLE LIE...BECAUSE SHE CAN'T DESCRIBE THE PAIN. ASK MY MOM HOW SHE IS...SHE'LL SAY: "I'M ALRIGHT". IF THAT'S THE TRUTH, THEN TELL ME...WHY DOES SHE CRY EACH NIGHT? ASK MY MOM HOW SHE IS...SHE SEEMS TO COPE SO WELL. SHE DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE YOU SEE...NOR THE STRENGTH TO EVEN YELL. ASK MY MOM HOW SHE IS...''I'M FINE, I'M WELL, I'M COPING''. FOR GOD'S SAKE MOM, JUST TELL THE TRUTH. JUST SAY YOUR HEART IS BROKEN. SHE'LL LOVE ME ALL HER LIFE...I LOVED HER ALL OF MINE. BUT IF YOU ASK HER HOW SHE IS...SHE'LL LIE AND SAY SHE'S FINE. I AM HERE IN HEAVEN...I CAN NOT HUG FROM HERE...IF SHE LIES TO YOU...DON'T LISTEN. HUG HER AND HOLD HER NEAR. ON THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN..WE'LL SMILE AND I'LL BE BOLD. I'LL SAY: "YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET IN HERE...MOM, WITH ALL THE LIES YOU TOLD''.

JARRETT HARD AT WORK...

JARRETT

THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR JARRETT'S SITE. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO LITE A CANDLE, WRITE A MEMORY OR A TRIBUTE. WE APPRECIATE EACH & EVERY ONE.
~THE LITTLE FAMILY~
IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT A CHILD WHO LOSES A PARENT IS AN ORPHAN. A MAN WHO LOSES HIS WIFE IS A WIDOWER. A WOMAN WHO LOSES HER HUSBAND IS A WIDOW. THERE IS NO NAME FOR A PARENT WHO LOSES A CHILD, FOR THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS PAIN.
ANGEL MOMS
We have shared our tears and our sorrow. We have given encouragement to each other, given hope for a brighter tomorrow. We share the title of grieving mother. Some of us lost older daughters or sons, who we watched grow over the years. Some have lost their babies before their lives begun, But no matter the age, we cry the same tears. We understand each other’s pain, The bond we share is very strong. With each other there is no need to explain. The path we walk is hard and long. Our children brought us together, they didn't want us on this journey alone. They knew we needed each other to survive the pain of them being gone. So take my hand my friend. We may stumble and fall along the way, but we'll get up and try again because together we can make it day by day. We can give each other hope. We'll create a place where we belong. Together we will find ways to cope, because we are Angel Moms and together we are strong!
